Der Blinde Und Das Mädchen: Neue Handtellergeschichten

Inhalt

Kawabata, the only Japanese author to have received the Nobel accolade, is justly celebrated for his novels, Snow Country and Thousand Cranes . Yet Yasunari Kawabata had the soul of a miniaturist and the essence of his art is found in his short stories. Reminiscent of the haiku, they all share an eerily moving quality that lingers long in the mind as they reflect their author's lifelong themes of love, death, loneliness and the passing of time. Palm-of-the-Hand Stories collects together for the first time seventy stories in outstanding English translation.
