Résumé

English This Greek edition and French translation of Euripides's Orestes brings to light the dramatic particularities of this classic text. Having killed his mother, Clytemnestra, for the murder of his father, Agamemnon, Orestes is pursued by his own guilt and the Furies. The intense dramatic tension and psychological violence of this play made it one of Euripides's most successful. The scholarly introduction provides the reader with necessary historical context and literary influences. Copious notes also accompany the reader with mythological references throughout the work.
